In Toronto, you don’t really see ants that often because of the long winters. So when I saw one in the summer while I was out walking, it caught my attention. It was such a small thing, but it made me think — like, they’re still here, just quiet most of the year. Then another day, I was at home drinking sparkling water , and I started imagining: what if ants could be part of an artwork? What if they were the artists too? I had this funny visual of them drawing on the bottle or even swimming through a mural on the wall. That’s how the idea started. Just these tiny, unexpected moments that sparked something creative in me.
