Sploot Mobile Application
Sploot is an advanced platform brand that provides educational skills to pet owners with personal growth and fulfillment for the wellbeing of their pets.
The product and services in a mobile application will serve the audiences with information like pet safety, first aid, veterinary knowledge and a brief history of the breed of dogs. The key take away for people who use this application is that they will learn and elevate their knowledge of their pet.
Overview
The Weather Awareness Mobile Application aims to educate and inform pet owners about the impacts of weather changes on their pets' health, particularly dogs. The application serves as a resource for pet owners to prevent weather-related health issues and make informed decisions regarding their pets' wellbeing.
This process book is about the journey of building a mobile app, from the design research process to the final digital interactive app. I will walk you through the exploration of my topic, including client information, target audience, competition, key insights, design challenge, design solution, goals, and present my final app deliverables. The project will break down into seven types of UI design processes that are part of the app concept: persona, wireframes, visual language, style guide, prototype and mood board.
Target Audience
The primary target audience includes pet owners of all ages who require additional information and education to improve their pets' health and safety.
Key Insights
In 2018, PETA reported 58 animals died due to heat-related causes, many of which were left in hot cars.
Animals can sustain brain damage or even die from heatstroke in just 15 minutes. This urgency underscores the need for immediate access to educational resources for pet owners.
A significant number of incidents go unreported, indicating that the true numbers could be much higher.
Design Solution
To address the identified issues, I propose developing an interactive mobile application that provides pet owners with:
Educational Tips: Information on how to protect pets during extreme weather conditions.
Real-Time Alerts: Notifications about upcoming weather changes that may impact pets.
Resource Links: Connections to local shelters and emergency services for pets in distress.
Goals
Prevent Weather-Related Health Issues: Reduce the incidence of heat-related illnesses and deaths among pets by providing timely information and resources.
Educate Pet Owners: Empower pet owners with knowledge to make better decisions regarding their pets' wellbeing and care.
Outcome
By launching this application, we aim to foster a community of informed pet owners who actively prioritize their pets’ health and safety, significantly decreasing weather-related incidents and improving the overall wellbeing of dogs in North America.
